D-SPEC

Introduction

The D-SPEC standard was developed to streamline the processes undertaken to display all new drainage assets and telecommunication conduits within each D-SPEC member’s GIS.

The key objectives of the D-SPEC consortium are to streamline stake holders’ (local government/utilities) processes for receiving, handling and storing of underground infrastructure related to subdivision developments in their GIS. This process increases the efficiency of information access and results in greater customer satisfaction when dealing with inquiries from consultants, developers and prospective residents.

GeoCivil and D-SPEC

D-SPEC format functionality has been fully incorporated into GeoCivil. Now GeoCivil users can produce fully compliant D-SPEC products from their GeoCivil datasets through the GIS module.
